  • “Hi Elaine, I've started watching your new lessons and can't wait to put pencils and paints to paper! It is so apparent that you put a ton of work into this series and I am happily grateful to be able to learn from you! Your explanations and examples are so clear and easy to grasp and I can't wait to get the next classes you have coming soon!”

    Suzy D.

  • “I never imagined myself as a portrait artist. Adding people to the scene always seemed like a distant dream, but my attempt always fell short. Then I discovered your Workshop. It’s not just well-structured, it’s a treasure trove of tricks and tricks that have made painting people both easy and incredible fun. I’m amazed at how much I’ve learned and accomplished in just three weeks.”

    Britt

  • “I just finished lesson 3 yesterday and I have to tell you I am so excited!!! Something just clicked in my brain in a way it never has before! It’s like I can see things in a totally different way! I appreciate you so much! You are truly a gifted teacher! Can’t wait to finish the whole set!”

  • “I want to express my sincere appreciation for your Urbanscapes class. Your approach to urban illustrations is truly refreshing and inspiring. I really like how you have designed the course to emphasize creativity and personal style over rigid technical perfection… ”

    Abhiri

  • “The most important thing I learned is to simplify what I draw. This is a very difficult task for me, but it was explained in a way that was easy to understand in this class. The technique of deliberately distorting the point of view, the use of color, and bold composition, I definitely want to incorporate these into my paintings in the future.”

    Ichiyo

  • "I just wanted to reach out to you to say I am having a great time with this class.  I love your teaching style so much.  That is why I signed up for my second class with you.  I am having a great time with ‘Drawing Made Simple’. Thank you for all the work you put into these class instructional videos.  Your words are so encouraging and helpful.  I just wanted to say, Thank you!"

  • The supplies for this class are simply recommendations to help you follow along—they’re not mandatory. We’ll be using colored pencils in a variety of colors, an eraser, drawing paper, and optionally tracing paper. You’ll also receive digital worksheets and reference images, which you can either print out or use digitally to draw over.

  • Yes, this class is designed for beginners. We’ll go step-by-step in learning how to use the art supplies and illustrate different subjects. While I’ll share knowledge, concepts, and plenty of tips and tricks, improvement comes with consistent practice; just like learning anything new. Think of these lessons as your starting point, and your own practice time as where the rubber meets the road.

  • My classes are designed for adults, but I’ve seen children ages 7–12 achieve wonderful results with guidance from a parent. Since I can’t assess your child’s individual learning ability, you know best whether this class would be a good fit. If you decide to enroll your child, I recommend taking the class together so you can guide and support them along the way.
