Lesson 4: Mixed Media Floral Experimentation (Basic Player)

In this lesson, students will explore painting with gouache and combining pastels, markers, and pencils to create abstract mixed media floral art. The session begins with a brief refresher on color theory followed by practical techniques for handling gouache paint.
Students will learn to mix their own colors, create various brushstrokes, and layer different media for texture and depth. This lesson emphasizes creative experimentation and intuitive painting.

Winsor & Newton Gouache paint: Spectrum Red, Yellow Ochre, Zinc White, Permanent Green Middle, Ultramarine Blue (Find separately or consider this set)
Paint Brushes: 1/2” Flat brush, 10 Filbert, 08 Filbert, 01 Rigger, 06 Round (find separately or consider this W&N set or this Royal Langnickel set)
